Why I Run: Crossing the Hawkeye State

I’m running 276 miles across the state of Iowa for two reasons — one personal goal, and one bigger than me.

Personally, this is my pursuit of becoming the fastest female to run across the state. I want to test my limits, push past comfort, and see what’s possible when you commit fully to something that scares you.

But every mile also carries a bigger purpose. Along the way, I’m raising funds to start an endowment for the YMCA — creating long-term, sustainable support to ensure it can serve future generations. This run is about endurance, legacy, and building something that lasts far beyond the finish line.

Word on the Road
“I’m not running across Iowa to prove I can — I’m running to prove that the limits we believe in are usually just starting lines.”
